Our Mission
PowerHouse Performing Arts Productions is a group of talents committed to producing exclusively original work that challenges, surprises and delights its audience. PowerHouse seeks to produce theatre that is entertaining, thought-provoking and innovative.
Artistic vision
PowerHouse began with a vision given in 1992. Over the course of years, poems, songs, skits and plays were written and performed individually as each developed their own style. It wasn’t until February 2008 when Despi Parker, and Denneti Wynn produced their collaborative script I’m in Love with The Other Woman and in the process started a theater company among other endeavors. PowerHouse is committed to bringing quality musical theatre productions to local audiences by recruiting those who are motivated, actors, singers , mimes, dancers, artistic designers and the willing hearted and providing them with a safe and loving environment in which to learn and perfect their craft.
Our purpose
To awaken the community to important contemporary issues through provocative new theatre.
To introduce theatre to those who would not otherwise indulge.
To present a message of hope and sincere humanity in a way that transcends any cultural, ethnic or religious barriers.
To cause individuals to be moved from one end of the spectrum to the other emotionally and spiritually.
To inspire hope that through the laughter and the tears it would cause individuals to Selah (meditate) on the message that specifically came across to them.
to cause individuals to achieve a greater awareness of the challenges in life that we all have
been affected by, whether personally or through association.
To provoke audiences to a higher level of compassion for our fellow man.
